In this cultural city of Mysore, our prestigious Sree Cauvery Educational Institution, a dream project of Kodava Samaja, Mysore was established in 1990 to impart quality education to the children of Mysore and Kodagu, has been serving the sacred cause of education for the past 30 years.

Enlightened members of Kodava Samaja, a Vibrant Community of Kodavas in Mysore, had been contemplating for a long to extend their activities as a Community Venture to other fields apart from their customary Social and Cultural obligations which they were performing with great enthusiasm and gusto.  With vision and will, they were able to acquire an ideal piece of land measuring 400’x 200’ in Kuvempunagar from the then C.I.T.B with the good offices of Late Sri. R. Gundu Rao, former Chief Minister of Karnataka.  After considering a few worthwhile proposals, the Samaja finally decided with wisdom and foresight and rightly so, to take up a school project, the bedrock of progress and the noblest of human activities.

SREE CAUVERY EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION, named after Goddess CAUVERY the presiding Deity of Kodagu, worshipped by Kodavas with great devotion, came into being 1st June 1990 in its own building constructed with contributions from generous and philanthropic Kodavas in Mysore and elsewhere besides loans from members as well as banks.  It was the first ever High School established for the benefits of Student Community in and around Kuvempunagar.    Since then, during these Twenty Years, thanks to the noble donors and the patronage of parents, the Institution has grown from strength to strength, to a full fledged Sree Cauvery Educational Institution comprising of classes from LKG to Degree with more than Thousand Two Hundred pupils under its roof, a spectacular growth indeed.
